Mounted title on frontcover of portfolio badly dam.; portfolio waterstained in lower margin and all margins duststained; lower outer corners worn; joints splitting at foot of spine. Contents not affected; but first 3 mounts trifle frayed.

Proof copy, printed on various shades of grey and brown loose leaves, tipped onto off-white leaves, with the plates partly handcoloured by the artist. Before the Amsterdam publisher's address of Van Gogh (but with mounted col. lithogr. frontwr. on frontcover mentioning S. Lankhout & Co. as printer).
